Top 3 Toyota RAV 4 Roof Box – A Buyer’s Guide

You are now entering the world of Toyota Rav4 roof boxes!

Do you have that sudden urge to go on an adventure? Or maybe you just want to get in touch with nature somehow?

No matter what activities you plan on doing and wherever you plan to go, it’s always important to make sure your Toyota Rav has the appropriate storage for all the things you need.

Toyota RAV 4 Roof Box

To cut things short, our top pick is the Thule Force XT Xl. Toyota Rav 4 is a big car and can definitely handle big cargo boxes such as this one. With its generous 22 cubic feet worth of storage, you will definitely be able to bring all your camping goods while still having enough space left over for other important things.

On the slimmer and smaller side, our top pick will be the Inno Wedge cargo box. It isn’t as spacious as the Thule Force XT XL but it has enough space for all the necessary camping gears you’ll need for that next camping trip.

Anyways, we’ve listed our top 3 picks for Toyota Rav 4 roof box below to help you decide which to get.

1. Thule Sidekick Cargo Box

This is a small, lightweight model for those who don’t need to bring along too much and whose priority is thus a slight, sleek roof box without any extra hassle. Don’t expect it to carry gear for a whole family of snowboarders or campers.

That said, if your expectations are properly set and a smaller, more lightweight and easy to work with roof box is what you’re looking for, you may be quite pleased with this unit.

For one thing, it boasts a unique space-saving design that allows it to carry its load inside while still allowing extra items to be mounted on its back with ease. This can come in quite handy if you need to mount more things to the roof of your car beside your roof box.

The unit also locks into ease quite easily as well. All you have to do is attach it using U-bolts, which are both sturdy and easy to use. This model can attach to most factory-produced racks. Adding to that convenience is the fact that it opens on the passenger side for easy loading and unloading.

2. INNO 320 Rooftop Cargo Box

This offering from INNO strikes a nice balance between being small enough to be light and easy to attach while still affording a good deal of room.

While it isn’t as spacious as other models, at 13 cubic feet, you should still have more than enough room for a few snowboards or an assortment of camping gear.

It attaches easily to most roofs and factory-made racks, making this a very convenient Toyota RAV 4 roof box.

3. Thule Force XT XL

Now we get to a unit that’s truly on the large side. If you’re looking for a roof box that offers an enormous amount of storage space, this is it. with a whopping 22 cubic feet worth of storage space, this is more than enough to carry all of your snowboarding, skiing, and camping goods, with plenty of space left over.

While 52 pounds isn’t exactly the lightest roof box out there, that’s still not bad for an option of this size, which speaks to the streamlined nature of this unit.

There’s quite a bit to like about this roof box from a convenience standpoint as well. For one thing, this roof box can be opened on both sides, allowing you to pack and unpack your roof box with ease. Moreover, the trunk is situated such that it is easily accessible while still not sticking out so much as to put it in a hazardous position.

Then there’s the fact that the unit snaps together quite nicely, keeping your skiing and snowboarding gear safe with its PowerClick Quick-Mount System. In addition, this unit features a torque indicator inside which clicks to let you know that it’s been properly mounted. In addition to the Quick-Mount System, this offering from Thule also boasts a LockKnob System for extra security.

A Word on Price

Last but not least, it is worth paying attention to the matter of price. You want to make sure that you are getting good value, but also want to ensure that the roof box you are getting is of high quality.

How much a Toyota RAV 4 roof box costs will depend a good deal on the size, build, and lock features offered. The larger the unit, the more you can expect it to cost. That said, there are many great roof box options out there, such as those included on this list, which is comparatively affordable.

There is a number of reasons why you might be interested in buying a roof box for your vehicle. Whatever that reason may be, however, this guide can help you find the right size to fit your Toyota RAV 4 for your next trip to the great outdoors.

  1. According to what I am reading the Thule Side Kick won’t fit on a 2019 Toyota Rav4. Toyota crossbars are mounted in a fixed position with 30.5 in between, and total distance of 34.5 in including both bar width. Am I reading the min and max spread of crossbars correctly?
